From the Desk of Your Pastor,
Hello
to all of our beloved
I
will confess to you that spring time does this to me and I love the feeling of
anticipation that comes with this wonderful time of year. I love how I know I will see the beautiful
flowers spout up from the ground and to watch the birds and all of us be busy
with life all around me. It is simply
the joy of breaking out of the winter doldrums of depressing cold and worry and
anticipating the beginnings of life budding all over the place once again from
the faithfulness of our God! WOW – what
a feeling to have in your heart, mind and body – and soul while you sit at a
computer trying to write about it. This
kind of feeling is meant to be lived – out doors on a day like today.
I
will also confess to you that my heart aches with anticipation for such a
feeling and time to break out in our church and in our hearts as God’s family
awaits His faithful promises of new life and transformation to take place all
around us. I want to ask you to pray for
such a feeling and response to take place in your own heart and in our church
in the days ahead of us as we celebrate not only the coming of spring but the
reminder of what Easter brings to us each year we await the Lord’s return in
glory!
It
is my prayer that our steps take on a liveliness to them that lightens the load
a bit and brings a smile to our faces as we see one another skip about in our
daily routines. I believe if we will
live our lives in anticipation of the joy of knowing Christ is with us and is
returning to bring us our salvation and fulfill the promises of a new heaven
and new earth we will find our steps looking like those of a child skipping for
the sheer joy of it. I believe this is
what the Lord meant for us to do when He called us to walk in step with His
Holy Spirit and to know as we are walking together with Him we will have the
joy of fellowship with one another and see hearts and lives transformed by such
joy, love, hope, purpose and life – the true meaning of “Find It Here” is just
a skip away for someone!

Building Better
Connections by Choosing to Be Healthy!
Chronic stress leads to cortisal overload, a hormone your body produces when you eat sugar. When you eat excessive sugar amounts your blood sugar levels spike and then crash making you feel stressed and boosts your cortisal level. Eating a balance of fruits, vegetables and whole grains help stabilize our blood sugar levels and avoid that stressed out feeling. Enjoy a small amount of sugar occasionally like a few dark chocolate chip cookies or pieces of dark chocolate to satisfy that craving.
All of these are more scientific proofs of the effects God promises to us when we “walk by the Spirit” and receive the “fruits” of our labors – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control (especially when it comes to chocolate sweets)!
